All teeth hurt suddenly

Sudden pain in many teeth can reflect sensitivity, clenching, sinus pressure, gum inflammation, or pain referred from one tooth.

Exposed dentin responds to temperature, clenching strains ligaments and muscles, and inflamed maxillary sinuses can create pressure near upper roots.

Avoid extreme temperatures, use a soft brush, and note whether chewing, congestion, posture, or clenching changes the pain.

Severe spontaneous pain, fever, swelling, a broken tooth, or trouble opening the mouth needs prompt care.

Ask whether one tooth is causing referred pain and whether tests or radiographs are needed.
