Oral b brush head for receding gums

For receding gums, choose a soft brush head and use light pressure; the brush head cannot reverse lost gum tissue or treat the cause of recession.

Gum recession exposes part of the tooth root when the gingival margin moves toward the root. A soft Oral-B-compatible head may reduce mechanical irritation, but recession can also involve inflammation, thin gum tissue, tooth position, or clenching.

Use a small soft head, place the bristles at the gumline, and guide it without scrubbing or pressing hard. Clean between the teeth, use fluoride toothpaste, and have the recession measured so the clinician can address plaque, bite forces, or other causes.

Arrange an examination if recession is progressing, the root is sensitive, plaque collects at the exposed area, or the tooth looks loose. Prompt care is needed for swelling, pus, severe pain, or rapid change.

Ask how deep the recession is, whether there is gum inflammation or root wear, which brush head and technique suit you, and whether periodontal treatment is needed.
