Micro tight gum proxabrush

A micro interdental brush is used for spaces that accept its wire and bristles; it should slide through gently without being forced or wedged.

Very tight contacts may not accept an interdental brush because the contact point is closed or the gum papilla fills the space. Inserting a brush that is too large can bend the wire, traumatise the papilla, or damage a restoration’s margin.

Start with the smallest suitable size and guide it horizontally through an open space, keeping the wire away from the gum. If it will not pass smoothly, stop and use floss or seek sizing advice rather than pushing it through.

See a dentist or hygienist if one space repeatedly traps food, bleeds, feels painful, or has a rough filling or crown edge. A persistent gap may reflect gum attachment loss, tooth shape, movement, or a restoration that needs review.
