Yes. Dentures differ in base material, tooth material, fit, retention, design, and how closely they are adapted to the gums and bite.

A denture replaces missing teeth and rests on oral tissues, implants, or both depending on its design. Acrylic bases and teeth are common, while other materials may be used for selected components; quality also depends on impressions, jaw records, laboratory work, and adjustments.

Have the mouth examined before choosing a denture, including the gums, remaining teeth, bite, and bone shape. Clean the appliance and mouth as instructed, remove it when directed, and return for adjustment if it rubs or slips.

Seek care for ulcers, persistent soreness, broken parts, a loose denture, difficulty chewing, or a change in speech that does not settle.
