How to clean badly stained dentures

Badly stained dentures should be brushed with a denture brush and mild soap, then soaked in a denture cleanser made for dentures.

Acrylic denture bases can scratch or warp, and discoloration may be deposits, calculus, fungal buildup, or material damage.

Rinse and brush all surfaces, soak as directed, and brush your gums, tongue, and palate separately.

See a dentist if stains remain, the denture smells, causes sore spots, or no longer fits.

Ask whether the discoloration is stain, calculus, biofilm, or damaged acrylic.
