Types of denture brushes

Denture brushes have broad nylon bristles, smaller detail bristles, or soft two-sided heads for cleaning acrylic bases, teeth, and clasps.

A denture brush is designed for removable prostheses rather than natural enamel alone. Its handle and bristle shape help clean the fitting surface, polished outer surface, artificial teeth, and metal or acrylic components.

Remove the denture, rinse away loose debris, and brush it over a basin of water with a denture cleanser or mild soap as directed. Clean the gums, tongue, and palate separately with a soft toothbrush, and let the denture rest in the recommended soaking solution when not worn.

See a dentist if the denture causes a sore spot, slips, cracks, smells persistently, or no longer meets comfortably. Do not adjust it with files or hot water, because acrylic can be damaged or distorted.
