Dental super floss

Super floss is a cleaning strand with a stiff end, spongy section, and regular floss for cleaning around bridges and braces.

The stiffened end threads beneath a fixed bridge or through an orthodontic wire. The thicker spongy portion wipes plaque from the underside of a pontic, while the ordinary floss cleans between natural teeth.

Guide the stiff end gently under the bridge or around the wire, then pull the spongy section through and move it back and forth against the gum-facing surface. Finish by wrapping the regular section around each tooth in a C shape and sliding it below the gum edge without snapping it.

Arrange an examination if floss catches, shreds, causes persistent bleeding, or cannot pass beneath a bridge. Pain, swelling, a loose restoration, or a bad taste can indicate gum inflammation, decay, or a problem with the appliance.

Ask which thread or interdental brush fits your bridge, implant crown, or braces, and ask the dentist to demonstrate the path under the restoration. Confirm whether a tight contact, rough margin, or bleeding area needs treatment.
