How to use polident retainer cleanser

Remove the retainer before cleaning it. Dissolve one cleanser tablet in the volume of cool or lukewarm water stated on the package, then place the appliance fully under the solution for the stated soaking time. The solution acts on deposits while the retainer is submerged; it is not meant to be swallowed or used as a mouth rinse.

Rinse the retainer thoroughly under running water before putting it back in your mouth. Use a soft appliance brush if instructed, empty the solution after use, and wash the container. Do not use boiling water, do not scrub with abrasive toothpaste, and do not extend the soak beyond the label directions unless your orthodontist specifically advises it.

Ask for dental or orthodontic advice if the retainer becomes cloudy, cracked, distorted, rough, foul-smelling after cleaning, or difficult to seat. Mouth soreness or a new change in tooth position also needs review. Stop using a product that causes irritation and check the packaging or clinician instructions for appliance compatibility.
