Sonic fill composite

SonicFill is a flowable or sculptable resin composite system placed in a prepared tooth and cured with a dental light to restore its shape and function.

The material is a resin matrix containing inorganic filler particles. Sonic activation can improve handling and adaptation of some composite formulations, but the dentist still removes diseased tooth structure, isolates the tooth, bonds the material, shapes it, and light-cures it in controlled increments.

Ask whether the filling is suitable for the size and position of the defect, keep the area clean, and avoid chewing until any numbness has worn off. Return if the bite feels high, the filling chips, or sensitivity persists.

Seek review for spontaneous pain, swelling, a fractured restoration, worsening sensitivity, or a bite that remains uncomfortable. The dentist may check the pulp, margins, contacts, and occlusion.

Ask what material and curing protocol will be used, how much tooth structure must be removed, what alternatives exist, and how the restoration will be monitored.
