Single use dental floss

Dental floss is intended to carry plaque and food from between teeth, and a fresh section should be used for each contact area.

Floss slides through each contact and curves around both teeth, cleaning near the gum margin. A disposable flosser can help when hand-held floss is difficult, but it must allow gentle access without snapping into the gums.

Use clean floss or a clean section for every space, guide it with controlled pressure, and move it against both tooth surfaces. Choose an interdental brush or water flosser when spaces, braces, bridges, or dexterity needs make string floss ineffective.

Seek advice if cleaning causes persistent bleeding, pain, a trapped object, or a sore area. A professional check can identify calculus or an overhanging filling.
