Sensitive gum brush heads use softer, closely packed filaments to clean along the gumline with less mechanical irritation.

Using a soft brush head can reduce abrasion, but brushing pressure and technique matter more than the brand name. Replace a worn head and clean gently twice daily.

A sensitive head is useful when gums feel tender or bleed from forceful brushing. Angle the filaments toward the gum margin, use light pressure, and clean between teeth with floss or an interdental brush.

Seek care if bleeding persists despite gentle cleaning, or if gums are swollen, painful, receding, or accompanied by loose teeth. A dentist can measure gum pockets and check for plaque-related inflammation or abrasion.
