A gum-care electric toothbrush can help remove plaque when used gently along the gumline, but technique and dental assessment still matter.

The toothbrush cleans plaque at the junction between tooth and gingiva, not hardened calculus below the gumline. A soft compatible brush head, light contact, and slow movement around each tooth are more important than scrubbing.
