Just started flossing gums bleed

Flossing should clean the contact area without snapping into the gum. Bleeding that continues with careful daily cleaning can indicate gingivitis, tartar, or another gum problem rather than a reason to stop.

Use a fresh section of floss for each space, curve it around each tooth in a C shape, and move it gently below the gum edge. Brush twice daily with a soft brush and arrange a professional cleaning if deposits remain.

Seek dental care if bleeding is frequent, heavy, painful, associated with swelling or loose teeth, or does not settle after consistent gentle cleaning. Tell the dentist about medicines or health conditions that may affect bleeding.
