Professional GLO whitening combines peroxide gel with blue light, while the dentist controls the examination, gel placement, and exposure. It changes the colour of natural tooth structure, not crowns or fillings.

The light activates the gel while the tray keeps it close to the tooth surface. Existing restorations may remain their original shade, so a shade assessment matters before treatment.

A clinician checks decay, gum inflammation, cracks, exposed root surfaces, and restoration colour before whitening. They then isolate the gums, fit the tray, apply the prescribed gel, and monitor comfort during timed cycles.
