Can Ayurvedic remedies treat the cause of tooth pain?

Ayurvedic remedies may ease a dental symptom briefly, but tooth pain needs a diagnosis because decay, pulp disease, or infection needs dental treatment.

What dental problems can produce different types of pain?

Pain can arise from exposed dentin, inflamed pulp, gum disease, a cracked tooth, an erupting tooth, or infection around the root. The anatomy and cause determine whether treatment involves a filling, desensitisation, gum care, root canal treatment, drainage, or extraction.

How can you protect a painful tooth until your appointment?

Keep the area clean with gentle brushing and interdental cleaning, avoid very hot or cold foods, and do not put concentrated oils or powders into a cavity. Tell the dentist and any Ayurvedic practitioner every product and medicine you use.

When does tooth pain require prompt dental treatment?

Arrange dental care for pain that persists, returns, wakes you, or comes with swelling, fever, pus, or a bad taste. Breathing or swallowing difficulty needs emergency medical care.

What should you ask about the cause and treatment of pain?

What is causing the pain, could a product interact with my medicines, is the pulp or gum involved, and which dental treatment removes the cause?

Frequently asked questions
