Homeopathic medicine cannot remove a cavity; dental treatment targets the damaged tooth structure and the bacteria-driven acid process.

A cavity is a local loss of mineral from enamel and dentine caused by acids produced when plaque bacteria metabolize sugars. Early mineral change may be managed with fluoride and plaque control, but a hole requires removal of damaged tissue and a restoration.

Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste, clean between teeth, reduce frequent sugary exposures, and arrange an examination. A dentist may use visual inspection, probing, radiographs, fluoride treatment, or a filling depending on the lesion’s depth.

Seek care for toothache, sensitivity that lingers, a visible hole, food trapping, swelling, or a broken tooth. Facial swelling, fever, or trouble swallowing needs urgent evaluation.

Ask how deep the lesion is, whether it can be managed without drilling, which restorative material is suitable, and how to prevent another lesion.
