Triangle elastics connect upper and lower braces to guide bite correction; results depend on wear and the planned tooth movements.

A triangle pattern usually means a small elastic runs between hooks on selected upper and lower teeth, often near the front or side of the mouth. The elastic supplies a continuous pulling force while brackets and archwires control individual tooth position.

Wear the elastics exactly on the teeth and schedule given by the orthodontist, replacing them as instructed and carrying spares. Do not double them or move the hooks yourself, because the direction and amount of force are part of the treatment design.

Contact the orthodontic team if a hook breaks, a bracket loosens, the elastic repeatedly slips, or pain prevents normal eating. Seek prompt care for facial swelling, fever, or trouble swallowing or breathing.
