Blue bands for braces

Blue bands are coloured elastic ligatures that hold the orthodontic archwire inside each bracket slot.

A bracket is bonded to the tooth and the archwire guides movement; the elastic module supplies retention, while its colour is cosmetic.

Keep brackets clean with an interdental brush and report a loose ligature or poking wire so the orthodontist can replace or adjust it.

Seek prompt care for a detached bracket, sharp wire, cheek injury, swelling, or severe pain.
